Want to Save Your Soles?

April 2, 2010

Don’t you hate it when the soles on your shoes wear out? I have busted through a number of shoes; but I found a product that may help with this.

The other day I came across a company called Save Your Sole. The company is focused on protecting the soles of your shoes and ensuring that they last longer. They specialize in designer shoes and have shoe soles that will match any colour shoe–red, blue, black, grey, cream and white.

The company is based in London, but you can buy these soles online. All you do is buy them online and then take them to a shoe cobbler to fit them.

In addition to shoe soles they have shoe hotels! What a space-effective way to store shoes. I want to wake up everyday and see all of my shoes on display. They will custom make them for any closet.

Shoe vs. the Foot

July 12, 2009

Anyone who knows me knows that I hate feet. I hate the look of them, the smell of them and the feel of them.

Don’t get me wrong, I would never turn down a good pedicure. But you could never pay me to massage someone else’s feet. uugggh!

The first time I signed up for a yoga class and the instructor told me that we began the class with a foot massage, I almost walked out. Fortunately, it was a self foot massage, so I suffered through it.

Maybe this is just another reason I love shoes. They hide the ugliness of my feet. If you think of what a shoe is, it is the cover, supporter and protecter of what some may say are one of the most important part of our body–our feet.

Imagine if we all walked around barefoot everywhere… Imagine how calloused, blistered and scarred our feet would be. So as I complain about my ugly feet, I am thankful that I have shoes; not just to cover my ugly feet, but to protect and pamper my tootsies…

June 24, 2009

Ladies listen up!

I always said I need to get back into sports since my high school days. I now I found a new sport that I am confident that I can participate in and not be too out of shape. Check out the link. I can’t wait until this becomes an olympic sport.

Why weren’t these around when I was a baby??

June 18, 2009

kaylanewWhen I first heard of this product I thought… well that is going a little too far…

BUT, after checking out the website and seeing the pictures. I think this is such a genius idea for shoe nuts like myself who would easily drop the money for this much-needed accessory for their daughter.

It also gets the daughter’s shoe addiction started at a young age–a marketer’s dream.

If You Can’t Rock ‘em

June 13, 2009
One of my biggest pet peeves may be a little ridiculous, but I always cringe when I see a girl stumbling around in shoes that she cannot walk in.

If you struggle to walk in heels at least practice before you wear them out in public–or opt for something that does not make you look like a giraffe on ice skates.

It is not fair to you, or the shoe. You do not just look foolish, but the shoes get attention for all the wrong reasons.
Instead of people thinking those are “super hot shoes,” they think “wow, those shoes look ridiculous!”

I understand that some people struggle to walk properly in high heels, but it is just practice.

One night a couple girlfriends and I tested this theory…

I had never seen one of my friends ever wear high heels for the years I’ve known her.

We forced her into a 1-inch pair of heels and made her walk around the apartment for a bit.

When we thought she mastered that, her heels were upgraded to a 2-inch heel. See a pattern here?

Well, we got her to about a 4 1/2 inch heel.

Did I mention by that time we had consumed a couple bottles of wine? Minor detail.

So we discovered that she couldn’t wear 4 1/2 inch heels… That’s why she doesn’t.

My point is if you can’t rock them, perhaps they could be an interesting conversation piece on your coffee table.

My Drug of Choice: SHOES

June 10, 2009

A good pair of shoes can make or break an outfit. We’ve all heard this, but that is just one reason that many women (and some men too) are addicted to shoes.

Hello my name is Lisa and I am a shoe addict.

Acceptance is a good step isn’t it? Well I accept that I am a shoe addict, but I don’t see a problem with it. There are many other addictions that are much worse than shoes… Say smoking? drinking? drugs?

Shoes are my drug. There is nothing better than sliding you foot into a good shoe and it fitting just perfectly.

As I was saying, there are many other reasons that we all love shoes.

The adrenaline that comes when I purchase a great pair of shoes is the a great feeling.

There is the smile that creeps out when the shoe is the perfect size; followed by the immediate “I’ll take it!” Before I can even think about it the box whipped away, dropped into the big bag that screams “I just bought awesome shoes at <insert shoe store of preference>” and handed to me by a smiling clerk saying “I’ll see you next time. Enjoy”

And they always do.
